Evaluation of presentations to tourists

Great presentations the tourists enjoyed them a lot, they have decided on where they may travel, they have expressed thanks to all of you for your hard work and informative presentations. You were a great help to them.

Examine the evaluation sheets that the tourist/ class have completed.

Make a blog entry outlining the positives and negatives from these sheets.

Write a 200 word self evaluation making sure you include how (if you need to) to make the presentation better.

Once again great job all.
Congratulations to the winners, hope you enjoy your prize.

Next week we will be looking at types of food from other countries.

Power point presentations are fantastic

Thank you all for such creative and interesting presentations, they are all fantastic. I hope that you have enjoyed interviewing, researching, creating and presenting the power points.

Good luck in your presentations to the tourists, they are going to enjoy it. Remember to give them the evaluation sheet and ask them to complete them, collect the sheets because we will use them to evaluate the task.

Great job all.

Completed class presentations

Upload all of your presentations to the class blog, so we can look at them and we will have a great portfolio of presentations that we can access if we need them.

Remember to give out student evaluation sheets next lesson when you will present to the class, collect them so that we can do our evaluation on the task.

Progress check

Its time to upload your final draft of your power points so we can have a look at them and make any adjustments.

They are all looking really good.

Tomorrow you will be presenting them to the class, the class will evaluate and choose the ones that will be presented to the tourists.

Remember if yours is not chosen it is not because it was no good, they are all great and the work that has been put into them is fantastic.

Evaluation sheets continued

Look online and see how many different types of evaluation sheets there is. Choose 3 to download, remember to reference where they came from. From these 3 design your evaluation sheet. Here is one to get you started.

Look for sample questions too there are loads of them, but remember you will have to make sure your evaluation questions are focused towards your task.

Upload your evaluation sheets and questions to the class blog. They will be discussed in class.

Evaluation sheets

Why do we need evaluations sheets? Comment on blog 5 reasons why would you use an evaluations sheet.

Remember to update and comment on blog after each lesson

This is part of your task, so remember to comment.

Add your work in progress to the class blog, looking forward to seeing how creative you all have been.

Power point presentations

Its now time to be creative and start to make your power point presentation. Working in a group decide what information will be used in the presentation, choose a format and page layout and start to construct your presentations. Have a look at this it is some free power point templates that you may be able to use.

Lets have some fun with our creativity, remember the group with the best presentation will win.

Upload your powerpoint presentation to the class blog so we can monitor and make adjustments as needed.

Enjoy!

Google Earth & Google Maps

Now the fun starts! Time to surf the web! Take a look at Google Earth and Google Maps. Search the areas that your tourists have said they may want to visit. Look for accommodation, tourist sites and features of these places, make a list of these features, making sure that you follow the tourists guidelines.

Time to do the interview

OK it is time to do the interviews, remember to use correct language, be polite and respectful and most of all listen.

You have a list of questions to ask, but you might think of something else during the interview, this is OK and sometimes is the only way to really get the information that you need.

The interviews are to be recorded using the provided MP3 players. You all know how to operate them because you used them in other lessons, but if you need help just ask.

Remember because you are recording someone else you must ask for their permission.

Well good luck and don't forget to upload the interviews onto the class blog.

interview questions

Its now time for you to put your groups questions onto the blog so we can all look at them and decide, if the answers, from them will supply you with all the information required to plan the best presentation. We will go through the questions in class together.

Introduction to online learning task

Hi all
Here we go, a new way of learning, hope you all enjoy learning online. You will not only be reading and doing a set task, but will also have to develop a presentation, communicate with class members and maintain a on-line journal. Follow the link to go to the power point presentation that will give you your task and help you to start it. Also provided in the power point presentation are tips and instructions on netiquette and interview skills that are to be used as guidelines. I will be providing you with updates each lesson and expect the same from you. As you have already developed your own blogs in past lessons, you know how to access and use them, so enjoy. Your blog entries will be monitored to ensure that you have an entry at least after each lesson if not more, this is one of the ways that I will know that you have been active within your group and that you are on task.

OK, read through the power point now and post any questions, regarding the task, to this blog.
